Cosmetic Dentistry – Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Santa Clarita dentist, Dr. Sean Kutlay, uses porcelain veneers and gentle no-prep veneer alternatives. Porcelain veneers are customized to fit your face, to look natural, beautiful, and provide you a great new smile you’ll be proud to show off to the world.
Veneers make your teeth straight, white, resistant to staining and discoloring.

What is a Porcelain Veneer?
Dental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length.Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth.
Am I A Good Candidate For Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are an excellent option for many patients. During your initial consultation with Dr. Kutlay, he will perform a brief oral examination to make sure you’re a good candidate for veneers.Typically, patients who are suitable for this procedure have good gum and oral health but want to fix some cosmetic imperfections.
What is the Procedure for A Porcelain Veneer?
Getting veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process, with little or no anesthesia required during the procedure. The teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. A mold or impression of the teeth is taken and a shade (color) will then be chosen by you and Dr. Kutlay. We have an extensive discussion with our master ceramist to determine all the intricacies of your case to ensure that we have beautiful natural looking teeth.
On the second visit the teeth will be cleansed with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light beam is used to harden and set the bond.
You will receive care instructions for veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new veneers.
